Tom Mollenkopf

Tom is an Independent Advisor focusing on Governance, Policy and Strategy. He is an accomplished Executive and experienced Director with a track record across diverse industries and professional practice complemented by international experience.

Tom brings a strong strategic overview to water sector issues in Australia and globally. From 2007 until June 2013, he was the CEO of the Australian Water Association. Between 2005 and 2007 he was Deputy Executive Director of the International Water Association based in London and from 1995 to 2005 he was an executive at South East Water in Melbourne. Tom’s background is in law, first in private practice and then as corporate counsel.

Tom’s current appointments include: Senior Vice President, International Water Association; Member, International Committee, American Water Works Association; Member, Expert Review Panel, Australian Water Partnership; President and Chairman, Life Saving Victoria; Director, Surf Life Saving Australia; Director, Dandenong Market.  Previous Board roles include: Chair, Water Industry Superannuation Fund and Director of Western Water, WaterAid Australia and Water Australia Solutions Ltd.

He holds degrees in law and jurisprudence from Monash University (with additional studies in economics and politics) and an MBA from Melbourne Business School. He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Governance Institute of Australia.
