Get to know

Will Fargher is a founding Director of Aither and one of Australia’s leading water advisors.

Growing up on a farm and attaining degrees in economics, geography and environmental science, Will has built his career in water. With over 15 years advising on water policy and strategy across the public and private sectors, Will is committed to enabling improved water management and use across Australia and overseas. His recent work includes advising government and industry in Australia and countries such as Jordan, Iran, Mexico, Senegal and the Philippines.

Before founding Aither in 2012, Will was General Manager of Water Markets and Efficiency at the National Water Commission, and one of the youngest persons promoted to the Australian Government Senior Executive Service. Prior to seven years at the National Water Commission, Will spent two years as a water policy advisor for the Victorian Government Department of Primary Industries.

Will received a Churchill Fellowship to compare international approaches to water policy and management, is a member of the Australasian Journal of Water Resources Editorial Board, and a regular speaker at global water meetings and events.
