Amy Syvrud is a Principal at Aither and an experienced policy practitioner with a deep understanding of water policy and governance arrangements in numerous countries across the world.

As a member of a global team of water sector specialists at Aither, Amy supports and manages the delivery of significant project work in the Asia-Pacific, North America, the Middle East and South Asia. She has contributed to the development of internationally significant reports, participated in water policy dialogues with senior government stakeholders, and supported extensive consultation processes in Australia and overseas.

Raised in Southern California, Amy developed a strong appreciation for the value of scarce water resources. This led her to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy and Leadership, while also working for the Global Freshwater Strategies Team at the Nature Conservancy. In this role, she investigated water sharing arrangements at national and state levels, with a focus on the existence and future potential of water markets. She then pursued a Master of Science in Integrated Water Management prior to joining Aither.

In her spare time, she supports the Water Youth Network in its engagements with the OECD Water Governance Initiative and the Major Group for Children and Youth.
