Martijn is a public policy expert that brings a logical and collaborative approach to policy development and economic analysis. Martijn provides practical and strategic advice informed by extensive sector knowledge and an in-depth understanding of government and stakeholder needs.

Martijn is adept at applying economic frameworks to policy problems and translating complex issues into concise and relevant advice. He has over ten years of experience working across climate change adaptation, emergency management, water and natural resource management policy and reform. Martijn leads and directs Aither’s policy and strategy engagements across the Natural Hazards and Environment sector.

Martijn honed his skills as an economist at the Department of Treasury and Finance before moving to the United Nations in Bangkok and then the Municipal Association of Victoria, giving him a rich diversity of experience.

Martijn believes that collaboration is at the centre of all successful projects and he works closely with clients and the Aither team to identify and apply fit-for-propose approaches to achieve agreed upon outcomes.
