Get to know

Rachel is a water markets analyst with an interdisciplinary background in geography and biology. Her skills span from remote sensing and statistical analysis to stakeholder engagement and policy analysis. At Aither, Rachel enjoys using these skills to help support decision making when managing complex and challenging environmental issues.

Before joining Aither, Rachel held research and teaching positions at The University of Sydney. In her role as a tutor, she honed her engagement and communication skills and acquired a deep understanding of ecological computational modelling and environmental resource management.

Rachel holds an Honours degree in geography. Her research focused on assessing the usefulness of open-source satellite imagery to manage bushfire hazards near high voltage transmission lines in Sydney. The results of her research have initiated subsequent studies of the ways in which remote sensing science can contribute to hazard reduction and improved disaster risk management in Australia.

Rachel joined Aither because her passions align strongly with Aither’s vision: enhancing sustainable and equitable outcomes for businesses, communities and the environment.
