We are experiencing growing demand for our services and are seeking to increase the breadth and depth of our Melbourne team to meet this demand. About the role

We are seeking candidates to fill a Senior Economist (2+ years’ experience) level. We invest in training our staff to ensure their progression and development.

As a Senior Economist your role will be to:

  • undertake policy and qualitative and quantitative economic analysis
  • prepare high-quality written advice and recommendations to government and private sector clients
  • demonstrate a willingness and enthusiasm to undertake new, varying and challenging tasks
  • manage a diverse range of complex projects
  • communicate respectfully and constructively internally and with stakeholders
  • represent Aither at external forums and events
  • operate with a high degree of autonomy.

The diverse and multi-disciplinary nature of our work means that the successful candidate will have opportunities to work across all aspects of the business. The role will also provide opportunities to travel and work with our interstate team and clients in various locations.

Candidate profile

The successful candidate will have 2+ years’ experience working in one or more of the following areas, which are listed in no particular order:

  • economic policy and analysis
  • cost benefit analysis, financial analysis and business case development
  • applied quantitative economic skills.

As a successful candidate you will have completed University training in economics or finance

Applicants that demonstrate one or more of the following will be highly regarded:

  • experience in policy analysis or development in the water and natural resource sectors
  • experience in consulting.
